Readybot is currently exploring three industrial/commercial applications for next generation mobile robots. Each application was chosen to best fit current economic conditions; each will lead to net job creation and significant social and economic value for society.
Manufacturing Insourcing
Use of low cost mobile work robots by small and medium size manufacturers as flexible, easy to configure, light-duty automation. This will reduce costs and increase flexibility sufficiently to “insource” manufacturing (bring it back to domestic facilities), thus moving manufactured goods closer to consumers, creating local supervisor jobs, reducing energy usage, etc.
Alternative Energy and Environmental Support Services
Use of low cost mobile work robots to provide manual labor in large alternative energy installations, environmentally-friendly agriculture, and other applications. This will reduce costs and simplify repetitive maintenance, especially in harsh or remote environments.
Elder Independence
Use of low cost mobile work robots to help the elderly and handicapped live independently in their own homes. This not only ensures a more dignified, healthier life, but significantly reduces the cost to pensions, health plans, and society.
